On the map Byron Bay is the most Eastern point in Australia, known for it's infectious free love feel that you'll want to keep going back to. Full of fun loving hipster bohemians this cool coastal town has it all.
Being a veteran visitor to Australia's coolest beachside destination I wanted to share some of our fave places we like to hit up on a weekend adventure in beautiful Byron Bay
Golden sand and clear blue waters at sunset in Byron
We love to live how the locals do. Renting a beach pad and cooking up a barbie while soaking up the sun on your balcony is a great way to accommodate a group.
If you've got cash to splash and feel like checking into a complete 5 star experience, book a room just down the road at The Byron at Byron Resort and Spa.
For the kind of person who likes action on your doorstep, our fave place in town to rest our head is The Atlantic Byron Bay. Set amongst lush tropical gardens with guest rooms individually styled and a triopi-cool vibe make this laid-back getaway the perfect place to kick back, relax and unwind.
The Atlantic Byron Bay is moments away from idyllic beaches, boutique stores and an eclectic mix of bars and restaurants.
The Atlantic guest rooms are all individually designed and have a cool coastal feel.
Grab a board and hit the waves, The Atlantic has everything you need to fully immerse yourself in the Byron lifestyle.
One of the things I love about the food scene in Byron Bay is how deliciously fresh and local produce take a front seat. The offering is plenty and the eating is always good no matter where you end up, but one of our fave places to snag a table and a cocktail along with some cool cantina style Mexican food is, Miss Margarita.
Get to know the tantalising and varying tastes of tequila with Miss Margarita's specialised tequila Tasting Flights, the perfect sip to get the party started while filling up on their famous Nachos or a Deluxe Beach Burrito. Yum!
Byron is a treasure trove of cool shops to visit on a trip to Byron, the streets are lined with stores with an eclectic mix of fashion, homewares and accessories. If you happen to be in Byron for the 1st Sunday of the month you'll be lucky enough to see beautiful things made by local people and eat some locally sourced market food!
Our first port of call is Ahoy Trader, filled to the brim with luxe homewares and art with a nod to the captain for it's nautical feel by local artist Jai Vasicek. The store is buffed out with tropi-cool fashion and accessories too. You'll want to take everything home!!!
Another must visit store is Unplugged. A super cool store full of goodies for him, her and the home. A great brand mix for ocean lovers with undertones of surf culture from the 60's & 70's.
Just wandering around the streets of Byron you'll come across many amazing stores, stocked with beautiful brands and stunning art. Shop local is at the forefront of this neck of the woods, much of what you see around town is from the creative locals in the area.
Jump in a kayak and get up close and personal with the sea life that surrounds this natural marine park. Cape Byron is home to dolphins, whales, turtles and more! Go Sea Kayak Byron Bay is a super fun way to spend a few hours and will leave you feeling high on good vibes.
From beautiful beaches and fun bars Byron has it all! Home to many a festival this good vibe coastal town has its creative juices flowing on every corner and sure knows how to turn it on for any type of traveller. Never a dull moment and always a good time!
